School Psychologists

Meet the Lincoln High School, School Psychologist Team

My name is Kristin Ruffoni.  I am a school psychologist at Lincoln High School. With the world facing much change and uncertainty, I wanted to create a safe place for you to access tools and resources.

I am available for consultation and support.   We all need to take care of ourselves and each other so please don't hesitate to reach out.

Things to know about me:  I have worked in Lincoln Unified for 29 years. I've lived in the valley all my life (Atwater, Fresno, Sacramento and Stockton). I love traveling especially to areas with sandy beaches. I have two adult daughters who are LHS alumni. My husband is also an LHS alum! I enjoy  friends/ family time, attending concerts, shopping and guac!

Hello! My name is Kristina Garcia. I am a school psychologist at Lincoln High School. I also work at Village Oaks High School and additionally at County One sites with students who reside in Lincoln Unified School District.

Though our roles as school psychologists can be broad, we are here to provide support for our students and staff.  Please feel free to reach out and I will respond as quickly as possible.

A little about me: I have worked in Lincoln Unified School District for 20 years, 15 of those years at Lincoln High School. I am born and raised in Stockton, CA, and a graduate of  Lincoln High School and the University of the Pacific. Some things I do for fun: I enjoy spending time with friends and family and my very cute Boston Terrier, Pancho, shopping, running and working out, and eating good food!

The Role of a School Psychologist

As school psychologists we are responsible for a wide range of duties with the goal of helping students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally and emotionally. Though we mainly work with students, we also closely collaborate with teachers, parents, school counselors, administrators, and other staff members with the goal meeting the academic and emotional needs of our students. Our primary focus is on assessing and testing students to determine eligibility and need for special education services. In addition,  we collaborate with our school counselors, provide crisis counseling and complete suicide and threat risk assessments,  consultation support to our teachers and parents, and work closely with our special education teachers in developing individualized education plans (IEP’s) and monitoring student progress. A day in the life of a school psychologist can vary greatly. No two days look alike and we have learned to expect the unexpected. You never know what needs may come up in a day so it’s important to be flexible, patient, and open to change in this role.
