• BASE Social-Emotional Learning

John McCandless students use the BASE curriculum for social-emotional learning. BASE is an online program for therapeutic prevention and intervention created by mental health specialists. Through this resource, students will learn how to stay safe online, handle bullying, and manage their anger and self-esteem.

BASE encourages healthy communication and thoughtful, empathetic decision-making. In addition to learning these concepts through the program, students will also answer questions about themselves and identify personal challenges to overcome. Students may also be asked to complete surveys related to their progress so John McCandless teachers, counselors and administrators can properly gauge their development.
